What are crowns and bridges? As defined by our family dentist, crowns and bridges are fixed prosthetic devices that we will place and cement onto existing teeth or implants in order to cover a damaged tooth. Bridges are used to restore missing teeth and crowns are used to attach a bridge, protect weak teeth from fracturing, cover a discolored or poorly shaped tooth, or replace a filling where there isn’t enough tooth remaining.
At Mentor Smiles in Mentor, OH, we specialize in CEREC one-visit crowns.
Most crowns can be completed in two hours, however, we can get you in and out with our one-hour crowns! CEREC technology makes this possible as we use a CAD-CAM machine to create a model, matching your tooth’s natural shade. Once we design the crown, we will send it to the milling machine to be cut and shaped precisely. We will then bond the crown to your tooth, just like a traditional crown.
